Who are you?
Welcome! I am Melissa Vassallo, owner of Ace of Spades Landscaping. I grew up in the garden digging for worms and potato bugs while picking snap peas and blackberries off the vine. My happy place continues to be digging in the dirt, though my relationship with blackberries has changed. In 2021 I moved to Maple Bay BC with my family, in large part so I could have more dirt to dig in! In 2023, I decided to apply my passion outside my own garden and opened Ace of Spades. Since then, I’ve never been happier! I have met many wonderful people, building relationships with them and their gardens. I value each and every client and am grateful for their trust. The joy I see on their faces and the satisfaction I feel from a job well done keeps me fit and fulfilled! In my off time, you’ll find me doing the exact same thing at home, usually with my daughter trying to spray me with the hose. Much of my work is residential, though I have done larger projects for strata orgs and the local municipality. I have taken the Master Gardener program and am constantly learning. I love to get dirty, work outside and I live for that sweet reveal of a garden space transformed from weed pile to outdoor oasis.
